This ‘not your average’ roller rink is coming to Virginia Beach
VIRGINIA BEACH — A new roller skating rink coming to Lynnhaven North Shopping Center is taking family entertainment to a whole new level this fall.
But don’t be fooled, the new 27,000-square-foot fun center includes two roller rinks, a main rink and a small rink for the ‘littles,’ and is about so much more than skating in circles under a disco ball.
With its eSports lounge, kids jungle gym, and even an escape room, Jake Caburain, Sk8 House’s director of marketing, said Sk8 House is a “roller rink with a different approach.”
“We tried to incorporate as much as we can catering to not just kids, but also the parents,” he said. “It’s a family-friendly activity in a positive environment.”
Caburain said they’ll “have something for everybody” by serving craft beer and wine in their taproom but also craft food from local vendors including wings from “Wing It,” and former Hampton Roads’ food truck scene regular, Casual Eats, who’ll bring their gourmet burgers and New York style pizza to the brick and mortar concessions.
Jelly Ball will also be there with boba tea, rolled ice cream, smoothies, milkshakes, and slushies.
Sk8 House will be the place to host special events like gaming tournaments and competitions in the eSports lounge and birthdays in the six party rooms, Caburain said.
Conveniently located across the street from Brookwood Elementary and behind Lynnhaven Mall, Caburain said they’re also hoping to partner with schools and community organizations to host fundraisers at the family entertainment center.
An exact opening date hasn’t been announced yet, but stay tuned to Sk8 House’s social media pages to find out when to start dusting off those leather quads and inline skates.
